IHBC
The Institute of Historic Building Conservation (IHBC) is the key professional body for built and historic environment conservation specialists. The IHBC secures conservation by supporting the skills needed for the sustainable care, conservation, understanding and enjoyment of our historic places. The IHBC: • is a registered charity with a trading arm providing dedicated consultancy services for the sector • provides advice, training and resources to members, stakeholders and government, from jobs to web links • promotes education, professional standards and skills in building and historic environment conservation and heritage regeneration, notably its Annual School • encourages the care of the historic environment as a sustainable and unique resource that benefits everyone • operates a credible and accessible trade listing service, HESPR.
CABE
CABE is the Government’s advisor on architecture, urban design and public space. As a public body, they encourage policymakers to create places that work for people. They help local planners apply national design policy and offer expert advice to developers and architects. They show public sector clients how to commission buildings that meet the needs of their users. And they seek to inspire the public to demand more from their buildings and spaces. Advising, influencing and inspiring, they work to create well-designed, welcoming places.
PAS
The Planning Advisory Service helps the planning sector to improve. They offer a range of services to help planning authorities and their partners make good plans and deliver good developments. They publish guidance and good practice that they've developed with councils, provide direct support to help improvement, work with officer and councillor peers to support and challenge other councils, build capacity by running events, and help councils to learn from each other. PAS is part of the Improvement and Development Agency (IDeA) and a member of the Local Government Association group. PAS is funded directly by the Department of Communities and Local Government
David Lock Associates  David Lock Associates provides expertise in town and city revitalisation schemes, urban regeneration, regional and strategic planning, urban expansion and new settlements. TCPA
The Town and Country Planning Association (TCPA) is an independent charity working to improve the art and science of town and country planning. The TCPA puts social justice and the environment at the heart of policy debate and inspires government, industry and campaigners to take a fresh perspective on major issues, including planning policy, housing, rengeneration and climate change. Their objectives are to: 1. Secure a decent, well designed home for everyone, in a human-scale environment combining the best features of town and country; 2. Empower people and communities to influence decisions that affect them; and 3. Improve the planning system in accordance with the principles of sustainable development.
